MOI UNIVERSITY, ELDORET, KENYA

Higher Education Management is a vital field of collaboration between Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya, and the University of Bayreuth. Academic exchange already exists for more than 20 years, most significantly between the Institute of African Studies (IAS, Bayreuth) and the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS, Eldoret). With the cooperation at BIGSAS, the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies, the partnership between the universities became formalized in 2008. Collaboration in archiving and digitization exists between DEVA (the Digital Archive for African Studies Bayreuth) and the School of Arts and Social Sciences.

Moi University is a leading institution in East Africa and is a participant at the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) in areas of Higher Education development, management and QA. SASS personnel are resource persons to the Commission for Higher Education (CHE) which checks and guards quality in academic programmes in Kenya and beyond.
